Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and finely chop the apples. Toss with a small amount of lemon juice to prevent browning. Set aside.
  • Melt the Base: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, sweetened condensed milk, and brown sugar. Stir continuously until smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add White Chocolate: Gradually stir in the white chocolate, and continue stirring until completely melted and smooth.
  • Incorporate Flavors: Remove the saucepan from heat and fold in the caramel sauce, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  • Set the Fudge: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Pour the fudge mixture into the pan and spread evenly.
  • Cool and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, until firm and set. Once set, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Nutty Variation: Add ½ cup of chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds) for added crunch.
  • Peanut Butter Option: Swirl in ½ cup of creamy peanut butter for a delicious twist.
  • Chocolate Variation: Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips instead of white chocolate.
  • Maple Flavor: Substitute ½ cup of caramel sauce with maple syrup for a warm flavor.
