These Easy Caramel Butter Pecan Bars are a rich, indulgent dessert featuring a buttery crust, gooey caramel, crunchy pecans, and smooth milk chocolate. Simple to make and packed with flavor, these bars are perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime you crave a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3⁄4 cup cold butter
  • 1 1⁄2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping, warmed
  • 1 (11 1/2-ounce) package milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Crust: In a bowl, mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  • Add Pecans and Caramel: Sprinkle chopped pecans over the crust, then drizzle the warmed caramel topping evenly.
  • Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until caramel is bubbly and the crust is lightly golden.
  • Add Chocolate: Remove from oven and cool slightly. After 5 minutes, sprinkle milk chocolate chips over the caramel layer. Allow them to soften, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  • Cool and Slice: Let the bars cool for at least 6 hours at room temperature before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Nut-Free Option: Omit pecans or substitute with other nuts.
  • Dark Chocolate Version: Swap milk chocolate chips for dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • Extra Caramel: Drizzle more caramel over the bars after the chocolate sets.
