Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds beef strips
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced thick
- 1/2 onion, minced thickly
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Place the beef, peppers, and onions in an electric pressure cooker.
- Add the garlic powder, ground ginger, soy sauce, black pepper, and brown sugar to the beef and peppers.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine.
- Secure the lid on the pressure cooker and set it to high pressure for 15 minutes.
- Once done, perform a quick release or choose a natural release if you prefer the steak to crumble.
- Open the lid and press the Cancel button. Switch the pressure cooker to sauté mode.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup cold water with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch.
- Stir the cornstarch mixture into the beef and pepper mixture in the Instant Pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Notes
- Serve this dish with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- For a spicier kick, add a little chili paste or crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
