Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, milk, bread crumbs, and egg. Season with salt and pepper, and mix until just combined.
  • Shape the Meatloaf: Transfer the mixture into the loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  • Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake: Bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
