This Coffee Mousse is a rich, creamy, and airy dessert perfect for coffee lovers! With a bold espresso flavor and a smooth, velvety texture, this easy no-bake mousse is a decadent way to end any meal. Serve it plain or topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for an elegant treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee or espresso powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin powder (optional, for stability)
  • 1 tablespoon water (warm, for dissolving gelatin)
  • Dark chocolate shavings (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Dissolve the Coffee:

  • Mix instant coffee with 1 tablespoon hot water and set aside.

2. Whip the Cream:

  • Beat heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.
  • Refrigerate while preparing the rest of the mousse.

3. Prepare the Egg Mixture:

  • In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick.

4. Heat & Combine:

  • If using gelatin, dissolve it in warm water and mix until smooth.
  • Slowly add the coffee mixture and gelatin (if using) into the egg mixture, stirring well.

5. Fold in Whipped Cream:

  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the coffee mixture until smooth and fluffy.

6. Chill & Serve:

  • Divide into serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving

Notes

  • For Extra Fluffiness: Fold in whipped egg whites for an even lighter texture.
  • For a Stronger Coffee Flavor: Increase the instant coffee by ½ teaspoon.
  • For a Firmer Mousse: Use gelatin to help set the mousse more firmly.
