This Cool Whip Frosting is a light, fluffy, and creamy alternative to traditional buttercream. Made with instant pudding, Cool Whip, and a hint of vanilla, it’s quick to prepare and perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts. With just 4 ingredients, this easy frosting is versatile, delicious, and beginner-friendly!

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

Prepare the Pudding Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk.
  • Mix for about 2 minutes, until the pudding thickens slightly.

2. Add Vanilla Extract:

  • Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

3. Fold in Cool Whip:

  • Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding mixture.
  • Continue folding until smooth and no streaks remain.

4. Chill the Frosting:

  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the frosting to set.

5. Frost Your Dessert:

  • Once chilled, spread or pipe the frosting onto cakes, cupcakes, or any dessert of your choice.

Notes

  • For a firmer frosting, use ¾ cup milk instead of 1 cup.
  • If using homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip, ensure it’s stabilized for better consistency.
  • Chilling the frosting makes it easier to spread and pipe.
