Cream and Berry-Filled Pastry Balls are flaky, golden puff pastry bites filled with a luscious cream cheese mixture and fresh mixed berries. These elegant, bakery-style treats are easy to make and perfect for breakfast, tea parties, or a delightful dessert. Serve them warm with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or a drizzle of glaze for an irresistible treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of thawed puff pastry (one box)
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • ½ cup softened cream cheese
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven – Set the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Filling – In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Prepare the Berries – Wash and pat dry the berries. Chop strawberries into small pieces and lightly mash some berries to release their juices.
  • Prepare the Pastry – Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into 9 squares (total of 18 pieces).
  • Assemble the Pastry Balls – Add a spoonful of cream cheese filling to the center of each square, followed by a few berries. Avoid overfilling. Pinch the four corners together to seal into a ball.
  • Egg Wash & Topping – Place the pastry balls seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  • Bake – Bake for 15-18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  • Cool & Serve – Let the pastry balls cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Prevent leaks by tightly sealing the pastry edges before baking.
  • Frozen berries can be used—just thaw and drain excess moisture before adding.
  • For extra sweetness, drizzle with a simple powdered sugar glaze.
