Crockpot Chicken and Gravy is an easy, comforting meal that delivers tender chicken cooked in a rich, savory gravy. This no-fuss recipe is perfect for busy days and can be served over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits for a hearty, satisfying meal. With minimal prep time and the convenience of the slow cooker, this dish is sure to become a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix

  • 1 packet (1 oz) brown gravy mix

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (or use a homemade version)

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken:
Place the chicken breasts (or thighs) in the bottom of your crockpot. There’s no need to sear or brown the chicken first; it will cook perfectly in the slow cooker.

  • Make the gravy mixture:
In a bowl, combine the ranch seasoning mix, brown gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. Stir until well mixed and smooth. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is fully covered.

  • Cook:
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C). Alternatively, cook on high for 3-4 hours if you’re short on time.

  • Shred the chicken (optional):
Once the chicken is cooked, you can shred it directly in the crockpot using two forks for a pulled chicken version. If you prefer whole pieces, you can skip this step.

  • Serve:
Stir the gravy to mix with the shredded chicken. If the gravy is too thick, you can add more chicken broth to achieve your desired consistency. Serve the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, biscuits, or noodles.

Notes

  • Add vegetables: For a complete meal, consider adding sliced carrots, onions, or potatoes to the crockpot with the chicken.

  • Make it creamy: Mix in some sour cream or cream cheese for an extra creamy gravy.

  • Seasoning variations: Add garlic powder, thyme, or parsley to the gravy for a different flavor profile.
