Hoisin Beef Noodles are a savory, sweet, and flavorful stir-fry made with tender beef, vegetables, and chewy noodles in a rich hoisin sauce. Ready in 30 minutes, this dish is perfect for busy weeknights and can be easily customized with different proteins and veggies.

 

Ingredients

  • For the Beef Marinade:
    • 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
    • 1 tablespoon rice wine (or dry sherry)
  • For the Stir-Fry:
    • 8 ounces noodles (lo mein, rice noodles, or spaghetti)
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
    • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 1 carrot, julienned
    • 1 cup broccoli florets
    • 3 green onions, chopped (white and green parts separated)
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • For the Hoisin Sauce:
    • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • Garnishes:
    • Sesame seeds
    • Fresh cilantro
    • Lime wedges

Instructions

  • Marinate the Beef: Combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and rice wine. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Prepare the Noodles: Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha (if using).
  • Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, then add red bell pepper, carrot, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add white parts of green onions, garlic, and ginger, then stir-fry for another minute.
  • Cook the Beef: Heat remaining oil in the pan, add the beef in a single layer, and stir-fry until browned.
  • Combine: Add the stir-fried vegetables, noodles, and hoisin sauce to the pan. Toss to combine and heat through.
  • Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, cilantro, and lime wedges.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in a skillet or microwave, adding a little water if necessary.
