Honey Garlic Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken coated in a sweet and savory sauce made from honey, garlic, and soy sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions, this versatile recipe pairs beautifully with rice, noodles, or vegetables

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken until golden, 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir well.
  • Combine and Simmer: Return chicken to the skillet, coat in sauce, and simmer on low for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  • Serve: Plate the chicken over rice or with vegetables, drizzling extra sauce on top.

Notes

  • To thicken the sauce, add a slurry of 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water during simmering.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick or a splash of sesame oil for extra depth.
