Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Prepare Your Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
    • Slightly flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake:
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
    • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Glaze and Decorate:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
    • Dip the tops of the cooled cookies into the glaze, then decorate with sprinkles.
    • Let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

  • To keep cookies soft, store them with a slice of bread in the container.
  • Refrigerate dough for up to 24 hours to bake fresh cookies later.
  • Add food coloring to the glaze for a more festive touch.
