Make quick and easy mozzarella sticks using pizza dough! This kid-friendly, budget-friendly snack delivers gooey mozzarella wrapped in golden, seasoned dough, perfect for parties, game days, or after-school treats.

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough
  • Part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried oregano
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Marinara or tomato sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cheese: Slice mozzarella into sticks about 3-4 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
  • Roll Out Dough: Roll pizza dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  • Wrap the Cheese: Cut dough into strips wide enough to wrap the cheese sticks. Place a cheese stick on each strip, sprinkle with garlic powder and oregano, and roll the dough around it, sealing all edges tightly.
  • Freeze: Place the wrapped sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake: Brush frozen sticks with olive oil, sprinkle with Parmesan, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Serve: Serve warm with marinara or dipping sauce

Notes

  • Cheese Tips: Part-skim mozzarella works best to prevent excessive melting. String cheese can be used as a shortcut.
  • Dough Alternatives: Crescent roll dough or puff pastry can substitute pizza dough. Adjust cooking time as needed.
  • Customizations: Add pepperoni, veggies, or adjust seasoning for a personalized flavor.
  • Air Fryer Option: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes instead of baking.
