Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

For the Pecan Pie Topping:

  • 1 cup light corn syrup (or maple syrup substitute)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Prepare the Brownie Base:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter according to the package instructions.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, until almost set but not fully cooked.

2. Prepare the Pecan Pie Topping:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and salt until well combined.
  2. Stir in chopped pecans.

3. Combine & Bake:

  1. Remove the partially baked brownies from the oven.

  3. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the pecan topping is set and golden.

4. Cool & Serve:

  1. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
