Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin or ground beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 ounces egg noodles (or preferred side)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Boil egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Cook until softened.
  • Make the Sauce: Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add Sour Cream: Lower heat and stir in sour cream until smooth. Add the cooked beef back into the skillet.
  • Serve: Spoon over egg noodles and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Add ¼ cup of heavy cream for a richer sauce.
  • Sprinkle in paprika or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Omit mushrooms if you prefer a simpler sauce.
