This Mango Salsa is a refreshing and vibrant condiment that combines the natural sweetness of ripe mangoes with tangy lime and a hint of spice. Ingredients

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 red onion or shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (or substitute with bell pepper for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prep the Ingredients:
    Peel and dice the mangoes, chop the onion, and finely chop the jalapeño and cilantro.
  • Combine:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mangoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  • Add Lime Juice:
    Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix and Serve:
    Stir everything together and serve immediately with chips, tacos, or as a topping for salads or grilled dishes.

Notes

  • Add black beans for a heartier version of this salsa.
  • For extra heat, increase the number of jalapeños or add chili powder or cayenne pepper.
