Ingredients

For the Cream Filling:

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup Nutella

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon amaretto or rum (optional)

For the Layers:

  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled

  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)

  • 1 package ladyfingers (about 24)

For Garnish:

  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

  • Chocolate shavings or grated chocolate (optional)

Instructions

Make the Cream Filling:

  • Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese and Nutella until smooth and well combined.

  • Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  • Combine: Gently fold the whipped cream into the Nutella-mascarpone mixture until smooth, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

2. Assemble the Tiramisu:

  • Prepare the Coffee Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Mix well.

  • Soak the Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture (don’t soak them too long to avoid sogginess) and arrange a layer at the bottom of a 9×9-inch (or similar-sized) dish.

  • Layer the Cream: Spread half of the Nutella-mascarpone cream over the soaked ladyfingers.

  • Repeat Layers: Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining Nutella-mascarpone cream. Smooth the top with a spatula.

3. Chill:

  • Refrigerate: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the tiramisu to set.

4. Serve:

  • Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings or grated chocolate for a touch of indulgence.

  • Slice and Enjoy: Slice into squares and enjoy this creamy, Nutella-infused tiramisu!

Notes

  • Storage: Store the tiramisu covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

  • Freezing: Not recommended, as the cream may separate upon thawing.

  • Make-Ahead: This dessert is perfect for making ahead, and it actually tastes even better the next day as the flavors develop.
