Ingredients

  • 2 large tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • 1/2 teaspoon Aleppo pepper (or red pepper flakes)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Chop the Vegetables: Finely chop tomatoes, onion, red and green peppers, and place them in a bowl.
  • Add Garlic and Herbs: Stir in minced garlic, chopped parsley, sumac, and Aleppo pepper (or red pepper flakes).
  • Add Olive Oil and Lemon Juice: Drizzle in olive oil and lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Refrigerate: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Serve: Enjoy as a dip, condiment, or side salad with grilled meats or as part of a mezze spread.

Notes

  • Spicy Ezme: Increase the amount of Aleppo pepper for a spicier version.
